  • Only 6 other countries received as many total medals (bronze, silver, and gold) as the U.S. received gold medals (39).
  • China received 88 medals, but only 1 less gold medal than the U.S.
• Kazakhstan received 8 medals, all of them bronze. The next lowest medal count to miss out on gold and silver is Mexico with 4 bronze medals.
